Daksham (Dalit Kshatriya Muslim): A Possible Socio-political Alliance !!

Following the watershed year 1947, the Marathi Brahmin-led RSS has been unexceptionally offensive against the interests of four communities –  Muslim minority, mool OBC class (excluding lathait castes like Jats, Ahirs or Gujars), Dalit and Kshatriyas. We must ponder upon what could be the reason that a nationwide organization like RSS avoids elevating a non-Brahmin to the leadership of their Sangh Family (barring for one exception) ? Similarly, how many non-Brahmins are there in their decision making body? RSS is an organization RUN BY Marathi and Bengali Brahmins FOR THE interests of the Brahmin-Banias. Hindu-Muslim riots started only after the arrival of the British. Prior to that, the Muslim subjects were living peacefully under the protection of the Hindu kings. Similarly, there were no riots in Delhi during the rule of the Muslim emperors.

But interestingly, the current ruling class, which held administrative posts under the British and inherited the legacy of their pay-masters, is still following the colonial policy of “divide and rule”. After independence, their number*** has only increased manifold. So is it not difficult to fathom who are the spearheads of this communal hatred?

The condition of minorities in Congress mirrors the position by Kshatriyas in BJP. Both the communities are forced ‘begar’ sepoys – pawns in the Great Game of respective parties, both of which are controlled by the Brahmin-Banias. The former are deprived any share in power and resources. The Sacchar Committee report, released during Congress regime at Centre, described the socio-economic conditions of the Muslims as highly pitiable. But despite that, there has been no effective change on the ground.

Similarly, the socio-economic condition of Kshatriyas is also similar; the benefits of EWS reservation were promised but that too incomplete. The stringent landholding clauses and conditions of EWS quota bars those from the Kshatriya community from making a mark in competitive exams like that of UPSC.

More so, by distorting history, seeds of hatred are being sown between Kshatriyas and other farming caste groups. By whom ? The same party and the same brahmin-bania nexus , whose blind supporters are, sadly, the Kshatriyas themselves; whom he gives the red carpet welcome, for whom he bears the flagstaff. Similarly, the original OBC class, for which respected VP Singh brought backward class reservation, lurk amidst the same conditions till date. But owing to OBC reservation, the already landholding castes groups within BC ambit, usurped the major job share of these castes.

RSS is descendant of those hardliner organizations like Hindu Mahasabha, which were staunchly opposed to Dalit participation in the freedom struggle. This is the reason why self-aware Dalits do not tilt towards BJP till date. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s magazines ‘Janata’ and ‘Bahishkrit Bharat’ recognized this mentality and opposed casteism in the branches of Hindu Mahasabha many a times. If we look at the caste-wise crime statistics against the Dalit community, then we’ll find the same dominant OBC castes will be found to be the oppressors, who have digested the rights of the original OBCs; while the popular narrative of Kshatriya vs Dalit is manufactured by the media to conceal the ground reality.

In the last assembly elections, the difference between the votes of the Congress and the BJP was only to the margin of 177,000. These sections – Kshatriyas, Dalits and Muslims, need to recognize their strength. The balance of power is deteriorating and this is not a sign of a healthy democracy. Leaders of these sections will have to find common ground among themselves and form alliances. Otherwise, these communities should get ready from now to become second class citizens in the new India.”
